“Having started documenting the 3000 piece denim and work wear ENDRIME® Archive. My vision for the last few years was to start to share patterns with my many students. As a Denim Educator for over 20 years, every student and university asks me what a great archive book or resource they should get or where to buy or download denim patterns. The answer has always been that there are honestly no resources available.
I’ve also said to students that the best way is to reverse-engineer an existing garment and use that as a starting point. But the problem is most garments are not accessible to students, especially historical garments from 1877 for example.
Denim through the ages, the shapes and blocks change and often warp and twist. It's a challenging task to reverse engineer a garment - let alone a garment more than 100 years old.
Sharing a cross-section of interesting ENDRIME® Archive pieces, I know many students will appreciate the work we all have done.
d_archive shared my vision; they too wanted to accurately replicate denim archive pieces, so together, we chose 8 ENDRIME® Archive garments for the project. Not only did d_archive do such a fantastic job, but it’s also the best 3D replica I've seen in any historic denim collection to date.
Rajby Industries came aboard soon after, as they also wanted to explore our archive. They also have a team that was excited about the concept of sharing historic denim patterns to a newer generation. Rajby Industries made replicas of the collection.
Our mission at ENDRIME® is to try and document these archives for educational resources for future preservation and never be out of print.“
